Why this resume works

Attainment appears for two years, not one

118% of quota last year and 109% the year before. One strong year can be a territory or a lucky deal; two consecutive years is a pattern, and a sales manager reads the second number more carefully than the first.

Activity numbers stand behind the attainment

Fifty cold calls and 40 personalized emails a day, plus top prospector on a team of nine for six of the last eight quarters. The rank makes the effort verifiable, and the daily figures explain where the quota numbers came from.

The deal shape is described, not implied

Mid-market software on four-to-six-week cycles. A manager hiring for six-month enterprise cycles or same-call transactional sales can immediately tell how far the motion transfers, which is the question behind every sales resume review.

One improvement is traced from cause to adoption

Three common objections identified, sequences rebuilt around them, reply rates from 4% to 7%, and the sequences became the team standard. That is a closed loop: a diagnosis, a change, a measured result, and adoption by peers.

CRM discipline is framed by its consequence

Rather than claiming to be organized, the bullet says management builds forecasts on the pipeline without adjusting it. That is a specific, checkable statement about trust, and sales leaders know exactly how rare it is.

What to change before you send it

Mirror the selling motion in the posting

Average deal size, cycle length, inbound versus outbound, SMB versus enterprise, new logo versus expansion. Name yours in the summary using their vocabulary, because a mismatch on motion is the most common reason a strong sales resume gets passed over.

Lead with attainment or with rank, whichever is stronger

If your attainment is clean, open with it as this example does. If a territory change or a product transition wrecked one year, lead with ranking, streaks, or activity records instead, and handle the down year in the interview.

Put their CRM and sequencing tools first

Salesforce and HubSpot are not interchangeable to the person reading, and neither are Outreach and Salesloft. Move the ones the posting names to the front of the tools line, and drop anything you have only watched a colleague use.

Give context for a missed quota rather than hiding it

A resume with no quota figures anywhere is more suspicious than one with a 92% year explained by a ramp, a territory split, or a product sunset. Say the number and the circumstance in the same breath.

Mistakes that sink a sales representative resume

No quota figure anywhere on the page

"Consistently exceeded targets" is the phrase every sales resume uses and no sales manager believes. Attainment percentages, quota size, and ranking are the currency of the role, and a resume without them reads as one hiding something.

Growth percentages with no base to anchor them

Growing a territory by 200% is impressive from $2M and unremarkable from $40K. Give the starting figure or the absolute revenue, because an experienced reviewer assumes the missing number is the unflattering one.

Awards listed without year or field size

President's Club means something different in a company of 12 sellers than in one of 400. Add the year and the rank, such as top 5 of 60, so the award becomes a fact rather than a logo on the page.

Describing the product instead of the selling

Three lines about the platform's features tell a reviewer what your employer sold. What they need is how you found buyers, ran discovery, handled procurement, and closed, none of which the product description reveals.

Words a sales representative posting usually contains

Use the ones that are true of you, in the sentences where you describe the work - not as a list bolted to the end. Matching a job description's vocabulary helps a keyword filter find you; it is not what convinces the person who reads the resume afterwards.

Sales Representative resume questions

How do I show quota when I was measured on several numbers?

Lead with the one your compensation actually turned on, then add the others in the same bullet if they help. This example does that at the SDR level, giving meeting quota attainment first and sourced sales-qualified leads second. Two numbers clarify; five compete with each other and none of them lands.

What should I do if I missed quota last year?

State the attainment and the reason in one line: a mid-year territory split, a ramp on a new product, a segment that was reorganized. Sales managers have all lived through those years. What damages you is a resume with no figures at all, which reads as concealment rather than context.

Should I list President's Club and other sales awards?

Yes, with the year and the field size, and keep them to a short line rather than a section. Two well-qualified awards outperform six vague ones. If an award came from a small team or a single quarter, say so, because a reviewer who probes it will find out anyway.

How do I move from SDR to account executive on paper?

Show the parts of the closing motion you already own: discovery calls you ran alone, deals you influenced through to signature, forecasting accuracy, and any full cycle you carried when the team was short. Meeting quota attainment proves activity. Evidence of qualification judgment is what gets you the closing interview.
