Is ResumeNext really free?
The builder is free and complete: all 24 templates, every accent color, import from PDF or Word, the ATS score, the job board, the job tracker, 5 AI actions a day, and export to both PDF and Word. Free exports carry one small credit line - "Made with ResumeNext" - at the bottom of the file. Three things separate free from Pro: that credit line, the cap of 5 AI actions a day, and a ceiling of 5 saved resumes.
Do I need an account?
You can build and preview a resume without one. Downloading the file requires a free account: the download button opens a sign-up box and the file starts on its own once you are in. An account is also needed to save resumes, share a public link, or buy Pro.
What exactly is the watermark?
One line of small grey text - "Made with ResumeNext" - at the bottom of each page of an exported PDF or Word file. It does not sit across your content, and nothing in the resume itself is hidden or degraded. Pro removes it.
Which export formats do I get?
Resumes export to PDF in US Letter or A4, and to Word (.docx). The Word export is a single-column, single-font layout on purpose: recruiters often re-open and edit it, so it stays as plain as possible. Cover letters and resignation letters export to PDF, Word, or plain text.
Can I import the resume I already have?
Yes - upload a PDF, a Word file, or paste plain text, and the parser splits it into roles, dates, bullets, education, and skills. A LinkedIn profile saved to PDF works as well. It is a parser, not magic: heavily designed layouts with columns, tables, or graphics come out imperfect, and you fix them in the editor.
How is the ATS score calculated?
10 concrete checks on your content, summed into a 0-100 score with a letter grade: contact details, a summary, experience with enough detail, bullets that start with action verbs, quantified results, a skills section, education, total length, no first-person pronouns, and keyword overlap with a job description if you paste one. It runs on our own rules, updates as you type, and no applicant tracking vendor endorses it - treat it as a checklist, not a verdict.
Are the templates actually ATS-safe?
9 of the 24 templates are single column with standard fonts, so the order a parser extracts matches the order a human reads - those carry the ATS-safe badge. The other 15 are visual layouts with a sidebar or a full-width header: the text stays extractable, but some parsers reorder columns, so we do not claim the badge for them.
What does the AI do, and where are its limits?
It rewrites your summary and bullets, fixes grammar, tailors your resume to a job description you paste, drafts cover letters, and prepares interview answers. Every suggestion is a proposal you accept or discard - nothing is rewritten behind your back. It is instructed never to invent employers, dates, degrees, or metrics, but it is still a language model: read what it produces before you send it. Free accounts get 5 AI actions a day and Pro is unlimited; both are capped at 10 requests a minute. The text needed for a suggestion is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate it.
What are the limits on the free plan?
5 saved resumes and 5 AI actions a day, with the AI counter starting over at midnight UTC. Pro lifts both. Nothing else is metered: templates, exports, the ATS score, the job board, and the tracker have no quota. The resume you are editing also lives in your browser, so a draft costs you no slot at all.
What does Pro cost, and how do I cancel?
Pro starts at $1 for 3 days and then renews at $29.95 a month; there is also a yearly plan at $119.95 and a one-off 7-day pass at $14.95 that never renews. You cancel a subscription from your own account in two clicks, including during the trial; access runs to the end of the period you already paid for and no further charge is made. There is no retention maze and no phone call.

Tell us within 14 days of your first charge and we refund it, to the original payment method, normally in 5-10 business days. Renewal charges on a subscription you kept running are not covered - cancel instead. If you are an EU consumer, your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal applies on top of this.

Your account stores your email, a hashed password (or your Google account id) and the resumes you chose to save, in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway in the United States. Resume text pushed in by an integration to pre-fill the builder is deleted after 7 days. We do not sell your data, do not use it for advertising, and set no cross-site tracking cookies.

Yes. Open My resumes, expand Delete account, and confirm with the email on the account. This permanently removes the account and its user-owned ResumeNext data. If you cannot sign in, email support@resumenext.io.
Contact usWhat does the browser extension do?
It fills job application forms on 22 applicant tracking systems - Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, iCIMS, Workable, Taleo and others - with the data from your resume, and attaches the resume PDF. It only fills empty fields, never touches checkboxes like consent or terms, and never submits: the final click is always yours. It is not on the Chrome Web Store yet, so today it has to be loaded unpacked in developer mode.
Where do the job postings come from?
Six public job feeds: Arbeitnow, Remotive, RemoteOK, Jobicy, Himalayas, and We Work Remotely. We normalize and de-duplicate them and link to the original posting - we are not the employer, we do not receive your application, and salary is shown only when the feed itself states one.

No, and nobody honest can promise that. What it does is narrow: it gets your resume into a format parsers read correctly, scores it against concrete checks, and removes the retyping between applications. The interviews are still yours to earn.
